These miniature gourds average 3-4 inches in height; some are tinier. Dismal depth perception and achy hands have steered me towards miniatures, which I can hold up close and aren't too heavy. Once I realized I'll never be a portrait painter, I had more fun painting faces. Most are one-of-a-kind, but I do crank out some Santas at Christmastime for special orders. I like the idea that many of my pieces have become family heirlooms for others.
